  I've stayed here a few times over the past few years and it's always clean with amenities that suit a good budget travel experience. I stayed again last weekend and needed special assistance from the staff and they went above and beyond. So grateful to them and very happy to recommend the Sovereign Inn at Figtree.

  Our stay was a pleasant one, will be visiting this weekend again. If i can please make some suggestions on providing a few more essentials such as a toaster and utensils that would be wonderful... other than that...staff were friendly and we felt quite comfortable. I'm not a hotel person as I find most are overrated and provide similar amenities to motels while overpricing ... all areas were clean and I love the coziness !!! Can't wait to visit this weekend ...   The room looked not one bit like the pictures the website provided, I felt like I was 7 years old going to school camp again, there was no natural light what so ever unless I wanted to open the blind near the door to the walking public, there were stains on our towels and the man at the reception desk was to put it simply one of the most rude and unapproachable people that I have ever met in my life. After telling him that I am not comfortable writing my card down on a piece of paper so they can store it (what???), he gave me no valid reason as to why it had to be documented on paper he said 'that's just how they do it, I don't normally work here I am just relieving the manager'. I let it go... Got my key and was angry at the way I had just been treated. Not even a 'Hello, how are you today?'. It was quite absurd that I was the guest entering the reception area asking the worker how they were to not even get a response. We got to the room and it smelt like a bathroom and I honestly felt cleaner sitting outside than being in the dingy room. We didn't have time to go and approach reception as we had a wedding to get to, and after the unhelpful nature of the reception man why on earth would I want to deal with him again!? The next morning we woke up to go and use the shower, that is when we discovered the state of the shower and the cockroach in the bathroom in the shower. At this stage it wasn't even worth it. We packed up and got out of there and sat on the beach for 2 hours before we could actually get to where we needed to. I approached the same man on reception on checkout and told him all about this and told him I would give him the chance to explain. He said that he isn't the manager of the motel, that the manager is not well so he is relieving him and that is all he can say. No apology.. NOTHING. So, if that is the case and this motel can't be adequately run when the normal general manager is being relieved - maybe shut it down for those few days or get someone who can actually run the place... I am appalled with how I was treated, the room we were placed in and quite frankly the below sub par standard of the facility. It looked like a back packers room and I certainly did not pay a back packers price.

  Beautiful place to stay staff was awesome and friendly very clean and value for money would stay there again

  I didn't expect much from this place, as it is a motel, who would - but I did not expect what I walked into.

  Rooms are comfortable you get a good night sleep. The natural landscape setting is fantastic and your hosts are great. Breakfast is a colinary event, fill yourself from the continental buffet or feast on large cooked meal, or both. Great stay.
